Create a Survival Fund for 31 Girls & Their Caregivers

We hope you are all doing well as well as possible during this unique time. As our board member Juanita-Joy Ridell reminded us the other day: We are all in the same storm in different boats. So, we send you our love from our homes to yours. We are thinking all of our valued contributors. How are you? What concerns you about your family and your community?

We don't know what the future will bring and we do know that the girls and the orphanage staff in Haiti will still need your help.

Currently, we are building a Survival Fund. We sent a sum of money to Haiti last week so that Wisler (one of the beloved house "Uncles") can buy enough rice and beans to store for a few months, in the event that supply chains completely break down. This is a dangerous activity because of security concerns and he plans to get the supplies into the house with stealth so that no one sees him. Haiti has closed the borders and is not allowing shipments in or out; so the food supply chain and the safety of the house is a real concern. We are taking all necessary precautions.

We need your help to pay for these types of basic necessities over the next year. We cancelled our two Spring events and may need to cancel Taste of Autumn. We may now need to raise our annual funds on-line only. This is new territory for our small non-profit which is so community focused. Our goal for this global day of #GivingNow is to raise $10,000 which will cover 2 months of basic household expenses for our 31 girls and the staff that cares for them daily.

If you can give in order to provide basic security to our community in Haiti, please do so today. We have spent 10 years building a strong foundation for their schooling and home life and do not want anyone to fall prey to slavery or sex trafficking. Thank you so much.
